Sambal Soto / Hot Sauce For Soto

Sambal Soto, Indonesian Sambal Recipes:

So many different kind of Soto: but any of these sambals would do. Unless specifies other wise. Try these sambal and see which one of these you will like. "Shhhhelamat Meenikhhmati... Slurpiiih...!!!"

Sambal Soto / Hot Sauce For Soto

Sambal Soto I:

20 red bird's eye chilies
1 large tomato, cut up
1/2 cup water
6 whole candle nut, split in half
1 tsp sugar
1 lime, juiced
salt to taste

Fry candle nuts until golden brown, take it out and put them aside. In small saucepan, heat the water over medium heat, boil the chili and the tomatoes until soft. Pour in the blender (after they cool down a little) and add the rest of the ingredients. Blend until the candle nuts are smooth, adjust the taste and serve as condiment.


Sambal Soto II:

25 red bird's eye chillies

1 TB sugar
1/2 tsp salt

In small saucepan, heat the water over medium heat, boil the chillies and the tomatoes until soft. Pour in the blender (after they cool down a little) and add the rest of the ingredients. Blend until smooth, adjust the taste and serve as condiment.


Sambal Soto Banjar:

12 red chillies
1/2 cup water
5 candle nuts
1/4 tsp terasi
1/4 tsp salt
1 TB sugar

Fry candle nuts until golden brown, take it out and put them aside. In small saucepan, heat the water over medium heat, boil the chillies until soft. Pour in the blender (after they cool down a little) and add the rest of the ingredients. Blend until the candle nuts are smooth, adjust the taste and serve as condiment.
