Cream the shortening / margarine until soft in medium speed. Gradually add the sugar and meringue powder 1 cup at a time. Beat well on each addition. Scrape the side of bowl often. When all the sugar are in and the icing seems dry add water. Cover the frosting at all time, refrigerate /frozen up to 3 month. Makes 3 cups.
Note: For this frosting use only the shortening or white margarine. Because you are going to use this frosting in a flower making. So better to keep it white at the start.
If the icing feel too stiff to make flower, just add little bit of water, but when you mix it with color, it is going to be a bit softer later on. Just wait on the water adding after you done with the color mixing.
